Data Handling and Security
Your data security is my priority. This website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection (SSL/TLS certificate) to ensure all communication between you and the site remains private and protected. I’ve designed this website with your privacy in mind. I don’t use any cross-site tracking tools, which is why you won’t find a cookie consent banner here.
To measure visitor numbers, I use Plausible, a completely anonymous analytics tool. It doesn’t store cookies on your device or process any personal data (in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
For technical security, I use Wordfence, which only stores the essential technical cookies needed to protect the site from cyberattacks.
Comments and Contact Forms
When you leave a comment, the text, your name, and your IP address are stored to prevent spam. This is based on a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to allow future comments to be approved automatically. If you contact me via the form or email, I’ll only store your information to process your inquiry.
The legal basis for this is either my legitimate interest in handling your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or steps toward fulfilling a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Once your inquiry is resolved, your data will be deleted unless legal or accounting obligations require otherwise.
Affiliate Marketing and Liability
To keep creating detailed travel guides, this website is partially funded through partner links (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Travelpayouts, Tiqets). If you make a booking through one of these links, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you – the price stays exactly the same. These links are always clearly marked.
Please note that once you click a link, the privacy policy of the respective partner applies. I share all information to the best of my knowledge and based on my own experiences. However, prices and offers are informational and current only at the time of publication. Please always verify details directly with the provider.
